Collect Hand-Written Signatures using Access Forms
If you've ever wondered how to collect client signatures within your Access database application, then this technique might work for you.
Some Access database applications are installed on tablets or smart phones to allow the user some flexibility and freedom to do their work in the field. If the business process requires the user to collect hand-written signatures, for example, when construction approval is required prior to starting the project, then tablets and smart phones already have the necessary input device to accept hand-written signatures. Point-of-Sale databases could also use client signatures for credit card approvals.
This demo implements the use of an ActiveX control to accept the user's signature and stores the signature data in the table with their record. The demo then shows two techniques for displaying the signature as an image on a form.
I originally posted this demo at UtterAccess. I hope you will find it useful.
This demo was created using Access 2010 and tested using Access 2010 and 2013.
